MIDWAY SOUND & LIGHT SHOW

NEW MIDWAY SOUND & LIGHT SHOW

An all-new, Las Vegas-inspired light and sound show will be presented on the Midway each evening. The show will feature pulsating lights set to high-energy music and will cover 2,200 ft. along the busiest section of the Midway. Three shows will be staged nightly, providing mass exposure to a sponsor looking to make a big impression on Fair visitors. A name for the show will be created, which will incorporate the show sponsor's company name.

PEE-WEE STAMPEDE & SPIRIT OF THE HORSE SHOWS

PEE-WEE STAMPEDE & SPIRIT OF THE HORSE SHOWS

The "Pee-Wee Stampede" has been a great family attraction at the State Fair since 2004. The show allows children ages 3-6 the opportunity to compete in a "mock rodeo" complete with stick horses, chaps, cowboy hats, rodeo numbers, and stick bulls. Sponsors receive logo recognition on rodeo numbers and award ribbons, and name recognition on all kids' trophies, signage in the performance area, and pre/post show announcements. The "Spirit of the Horse" show features equine experts demonstrating methods of training and communicating with horses.

SAFE KIDS CORRAL & ID WRISTBANDS

Ideal for any business concerned with children and families. The ID Wristbands provide the sponsor with thousands of impressions and the sponsor name is included on sign located above the door to the Corral. The Corral is located in the heart of the Midway, probably the highest traffic area of the fairgrounds.

BASS TANK AT BIG TEX CIRCLE

Fairgoers will be entertained by the Big Tex-sized bass tank that will be constructed near Big Tex Circle. The tank will be approximately 30' x 15' and will contain several different species of fish. Sponsor will be recognized with signage around the tank's exterior.

BIRDS OF THE WORLD

Birds of the World

A favorite with State Fair visitors for 19 consecutive years, Steve Martin's amazing free-flight bird show spotlights feathered performers from exotic parts of the world, plus a bird encounter area and other surprises. Highlights of the show include birds soaring down over the crowd from the 212-foot Texas Star Ferris Wheel. Free shows four times daily in the Band Shell (seating capacity 3,000). The show's sponsor is featured on signage placed on pylons around the band shell and pre-show commercials played on the stage's video board.

MARINE CORPS SQUARE

Marine Corps Square

Outdoor, bleacher-seating gives everyone a bird's eye view of thrilling, live performances by the official USMC Band from Washington D.C. The square is located by the Fair's main entrance, and the sponsor will enjoy large signage on the back of the bleachers. The sponsor will also have the option of providing employees to lead the Marines through the nightly parade.

BMX BIKE STUNT SHOW & MIDWAY "THRILLWAY"

BMX BIKE STUNT SHOW & MIDWAY "THRILLWAY"

This section of the State Fair Midway will feature 4 high-thrill attractions and will host the BMX Bike Stunt Show. The sponsor of this special section will be featured on signage around the fence lines surrounding the area. The BMX Bike Stunt Show is a fairgoer favorite, drawing big crowds and thrilling audiences for each of its three daily shows. Signage and sponsor announcements will provide great exposure to the show's sponsor.

STATE FAIR 5K RACE (TITLE SPONSOR)

State Fair 5K Race

The State Fair 5K race became an annual event celebrating the opening of the Fair in 2001. Proceeds from the race go to the State Fair Scholarship Fund making this a great opportunity for a community-minded company. The title sponsor of this event will receive inclusion on all collateral materials to promote the race, t-shirts given away to participants, and on-site presence on race day. The race takes place on the first Saturday of the State Fair.

TEXAS GARDEN RAILWAY

Texas Garden Railway

NOW AT BIG TEX CIRCLE! Large-gauge model trains rumble through tunnels, over trestles and past Texas landmarks made from plants and other natural materials. Sponsors will be identified on signage throughout the train's track.

ENTERTAINMENT STAGE

Entertainment Stage

Stages featuring unique musical entertainment are strategically placed around the grounds for the fairgoers' enjoyment. Stages are named to recognize the specific sponsors and include a backdrop to feature the sponsor's logo artwork. The State Fair provides the talent for the entertainment stages.

    • One stage available for 2008, located outside Gate 7 of the Cotton Bowl

CLASSIC CORRAL

Classic Corral

A part of the famous "State Fair Auto Show," the "Classic Corral" features collections of mint-condition vehicles for fairgoers to admire. Mustang, Corvette, and Mercedes-Benz Clubs are a few of the featured collectors on display. The outdoor "Classic Corral" is open on the four weekends (and selected weekdays) of the State Fair. Display space adjacent to the Corral is available for the title sponsor.

BIG TEX'S BOOTS

Big Tex's Boots

The sponsor of Big Tex's boots will have their corporate logo placed on the State Fair icon's size 70 boots. The State Fair is specifically looking for a boot retailer or manufacturer to fill this highly-visible sponsorship role.

CREATIVE ARTS MARIONETTE SHOW

The Creative Arts Building is home to an indoor entertainment stage (named after the sponsor). This year's on-stage entertainment will include master puppeteer John Hardman's marionette revue, which traditionally is a State Fair favorite.

MOTHERS' "BABY CARE" STATIONS

To meet the needs of our family visitors with small children, the State Fair has created four "Mothers' Baby Care Stations" around the Fairgrounds. The goal is to provide mothers with young children with a clean, private location suitable for diaper changing, nursing, and relaxing.

BARN TOURS

Educational tours are conducted every hour during the 24-day run of the fair. Agricultural professionals are trained to lead tours, answer questions, and tell the story of American agriculture. The Barn Tour sponsor will be recognized on the guides' apparel and along the tour route with sponsor signage.

FIRST AID STATIONS

Sponsor would be featured on the exterior and interior signage at the two State Fair First-Aid stations on grounds and the mobile ambulances, which service the grounds during fairtime.

ELECTRONIC MESSAGE BOARD

Located along one of the busiest thoroughfares in the park (Coliseum Dr.), the electronic message board scrolls information about fair attractions and show times throughout each day of the fair. A static ad panel is located at the bottom of the board to give sponsor recognition, and 10 minutes of every hour are devoted to communicating specific messages from the board's sponsor.
