Agriculture at the Fair

Children's Barnyard

A long time tradition in the livestock area is the Children's Barnyard. Located at the corner of M. L. K. Boulevard and Nimitz Drive (across from Little Hands on the Farm), the Barnyard is open daily throughout the run of the Fair. Featuring over 60 animals, both domestic and exotic, there is always something that is both entertaining and educational to gain from the exhibit.

Barnyard employees and volunteers are on hand to answer your questions. "Kids of all ages" particularly enjoy watching the mothers' interactions with their young, and watching the baby goats at play. In the evening after the Barnyard is closed, the large animals and their young are turned out into the Ranch Arena for some exercise and fresh air. If you're exiting the ground via the Pan Am Gate (by the train and tram) and you notice the animals out, we highly recommend that you pause and spend a few moments watching the younger ones play and the older animals relaxing in the cool evening air.
