Auction & Scholarship Program
The State Fair of Texas is passionate about our mission to promote agriculture education to not only the urban Fairgoers who visit us during our 24-day run each fall, but we also strive to provide scholarship support to the youth of Texas. The Auction & Scholarship Program promotes Texas Youth, urban and rural, using a variety of fundraising methods and opportunities utilitzing volunteer committees representing the greater Dallas business community. Following is a sampling of events used to accomplish our goal of providing $1 Million Dollars to Texas youth annually.
- Youth Livestock Auction - 256 4-H/FFA youth exhibitors who qualified via species shows gather to sell their project animals. Funds raised by various committees throughout the year are used to purchase each animal at a premium price. Excess funds raised flow directly into the Scholarship Fund.
- Raffle - Held annually, the raffle raises additional funding for the Youth Livestock Auction. The committee gathers gifts and then sells tickets prior to and during the fair with the drawing being held on the last day of the fair from the Chevy Main Stage. Additional funds flow directly to the Scholarship Fund.
- Sporting Clay Shoot - An annual event held in April at Dallas Gun Club, this event generates funding for both the Auction and Scholarship Program.
Additional information on these activities can be found on the menu to the right.
